About

I’m Corinna Friebel, a Registered Psychotherapist, Auckland, New Zealand.

My goal is to empower you establishing and restoring healthy relationships.

I was born and grew up in Germany. As a young adult I lived in Hamburg and Berlin, both cities with super-diversity, where I developed my particular interest in cross-cultural work.  Besides studying design at art-school, I became actively involved with Amnesty International as a volunteer for many years.

Migration to New Zealand was the major turning point in my life. While I began my new career in the health professions doing bodywork, coming into contact with my client’s trauma led me on to studying counselling and psychotherapy.

I graduated in 1997 and since then have worked in specialist refugee trauma services in Auckland and Australia and more recently 14 years as a psychotherapist for the Auckland District Health Board.

I also have clinical management experience with a passion for developing innovative services for clients.

I now offer my experience of 20 years as a psychotherapist in my private practice in the CBD.

I am bi-lingual and practice both in English and German.

The strength of my experience is that I work well with a wide range of clients from diverse cultural, ethnic and religious background.

This may range from short term counselling support to explorative psychotherapy for longstanding issues.
